| Expedite work on artificial lake: AJHLA | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Apr 9: The All Jammu Hotels and Lodges Association (AJHLA) has demanded early taking into hand of work for creation of artificial lake in river Tawi. This was expressed in a meeting of AJHLA chaired by chairman Inderjeet Khajuria has today. Members in the meeting hailed the steps being taken to beautify the banks of river Tawi and to make these attractive spots for the tourists. Association also stressed that artificial lake in Tawi as proposed to be laid between Gujjar Nagar bridge on the river and bridge at Sidhra, will be a singular great attraction for the tourists and the pilgrims. Particularly the Vaishno Devi pilgrims can be motivated to stay for a day or two at Jammu to enjoy boating in the artificially created lake as well as to watch the Aarti being held in the evening on the banks of the lake. Khajuria demanded that besides constructing bathing ghats, separate for men and women on the bank of the proposed lake, concrete steps should be laid for the devotees to undertake Aarti on the lake. On the pattern of the Aarti held on the river Ganga at Haridwar. Even if this project coupled with some other tourism related projects under way in Jammu city can attract 10% of the 80 lakh pilgrims visiting Mata Vaishno Devi every year, the economy of Jammu city and surrounding areas will get a big boost said he.
JK Bank opens ATM at Greater Kailash EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Apr 9: Expanding the hassle-free payment mechanism the J&K Bank opened one more ATM at Greater Kailash taking the Jammu tally to 76. The Executive Director & Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Bank Ashok Mehta inaugurated the ATM. Speaking on the occasion, Mehta said, "The bank has embarked upon an ambitious plan of revolutionizing the banking operations through effective technological interventions in various areas to ensure customer convenience." He further said, besides the state-of-the-art technology for efficient delivery mechanism, the bank provides the necessary back up through personalized services so that the customers really feel enriched after their interactions with the staff at various touch-points. He said that the bank has a plan of introducing a chip supported passbook system and more of such e-banking initiatives to remain ahead of its competitors.The people including businessmen, traders, professionals and other senior citizens appreciated the initiative of the bank.
