| JCUM demands local VC for CU Jammu | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Apr 8: Jammu Central University Morcha (JCUM) has demanded an early appointment of local Vice Chancellor for the Central University to be established at Samba. Addressing the media persons, Rajinder Singh Jamwal, president PRM alleged that the government has failed on all fronts resulting in the frequent strikes of the employees and many other groups in the state in favour of their demands. He further said that JCUM would continue protest against the purported plans of the central government in connivance with state government to appoint non-local VC. He also said that all other Universities of Jammu region has non-local VC's. "Is this means that Jammu didn't have enough competent persons to be elevated to the post of the VC of the Central University and other universities of the state?" he asked. Jamwal said that Jammu is continuously bleeding and facing the threat of extinction as outsiders, including those from Kashmir, has spread their tentacles in almost every sphere of life. This is an insult to the Jammuties nothing else. He said that Jammu cannot be treated as colony for outsiders any more, we will not tolerate it. The JCUM condemned the lathicharge on refugees demanding their permanent settlement, and supported the ongoing strike of government employees. Prominent among those who were present on the occasion included Uday Chand of Duggar Pradesh Party, Chander Uday Sharma of JSM, Ram Rattan Raina from Sangram Sena, Ram Pal Sharma from Dogra Liberation Fron, and Sunil Sharma from JURSEA besides others.
