| "World of Birds' photo exhibition inaugurtaed | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Apr 9: Minister for Medical Education, Technical Education and Youth Services and Sports R.S Chib, on Friday inaugurated a weeklong Birds Photo Exhibition, "World of Birds" by Guldev Raj, organized by Birds Photo Exhibition Committee in collaboration with J&K Academy of Art Culture and Languages, at Kala Kendra, Jammu. The exhibition , which started today, will remain open from 11.00 AM to 6.00 PM every day till 15th April, 2010 in which selective pictures of different birds including yellow footed green pigeon of Jammu Province have been displayed with a purpose to connect the people with real nature. Secretary , Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art Culture and Languages.Zaffar Iqbal Manhas, Additional Secretary, AAC&L Savita Bakshi, Sojanya Sharma, Administrator, Kala Kendra, Jammu, General Secretary, Himalayan Parivaar Abhay Pargal, senior citizens and artists were present on the occasion. While inaugurating the exhibition, R. S Chib appreciated the devoted efforts of Guldev Raj, who has clicked around 20,000 pictures of over 140 species and presented them in such a splendid manner. He said that young generation should get inspiration from great artists like Guldev Raj who take their job as worship, sacrificing their worldly comforts. The minister extolled that he has left an indelible mark in the ocean of photography which will certainly help the nature lovers to go for the same. This exhibition is the result of six years of complete hard work and dedication of Raj, who spent his days and nights in dark forests. The minister emphasized the need for reconnecting today's perplexed man with the strange world of nature as neglecting the significance of nature in human life amounts to ignoring one's own self. "Man and nature are inseparable which together makes the world a living world" added the minister. Chib further observed that the Nature was the only lap which nests every human being irrespective of caste, creed and colour and showers bundles of love and care on man who in return cuts trees to meet his materialistic ends. The minister assured that the artists like Raj will be extended every support from the government so that the state achieves a significant position in the world of art. Additional Secretary, AAC&L, Savita Bakshi said that Academy will always encourage the young artists to harness their talent in a right perspective.
