JAMMU, Apr 9: Department of Law has been pitted against Law School for the title clash in men's badminton event in the ongoing inter-department sports meet of University of Jammu on the campus, here.
Earlier, in the semi-finals, played today, Law School defeated Department of Sociology 2-0. The Results: Abhik Gupta bt Karanjit Singh 21-04 and Nikhil Sharma bt Mohsin Raina 21-10.
In the second semi-final, Department of Law trounced Department of Political Sciences 2-1. The Results: Lovejeet Singh lost to Pawandeep Singh 09-21; Varuneshwar Singh bt Nilanjan Sharma 21-09. Doubles: Lovejeet and Varuneshwar beat the pair of Pawandeep and Ajay Kumar.
Meanwhile, the final of women's singles shall be played tomorrow at 10.30 am between The Business School and Department of Psychology.
CHESS MEN: In inter-department chess tournament, Department of Urdu defeated MCA 2-1 to reach the final. The Results: Aftab Ahmed bt Manish Sharma; Raj Kumar lost to Pankaj Sharma and Aftab Ahmed bt Pankaj Sharma.
Today's matches were officiated by Ravish Vaid, Vikrant Singh, Meenakshi Sharma and Rakesh Sharma.
