Retd police officials are vital part of police organization: DIG

UDHAMPUR, Apr 9:Retired Police Officers and officials are vital part and parcel of the Police Organization and they may not feel themselves as isolated because of their retirement said
DIG, Udhampur- Reasi Range,. Gulzar Singh Slathia during a meeting with the retired police officials of district Udhampur at District Police Line, Udhampur today in which over 50 retired police officers and officials participated.
He further said that the meeting has been organized to know their welfare and also about their grievances which can be redressed from this Police Range.
Additional SP, S. Bhupinder Singh, Staff Officer to DIG, Amanat Ali Shah, Dy. SPs S.M. Jangral and Sunil Gupta and Dy.SP DAR, Mohd. Akram, Retd. SP Sewa Singh Mankotia were present in the meeting.The retired police officials were very happy over the gesture of authorities of District Police for holding such interactive meeting for taking stock of their problems saying that such type of meetings should be organized at Police Station level once in a month.They were assured that in future such meeting shall be organized at police station level. The participant unanimously reported that the PPO's and GPO's should be delivered to the retirees at the time of their retirement as few of the retired officers and officials have not received their PPO's and GPO's.Some of the officers also reported that their GP funds have not been settled despite of more than one year of their retirement and requested for earlier settlement. The retirees were asked to submit their applications in the office of the DIG Udhampur- Reasi Range so that the matter could be taken up at the appropriate level for the redressal of their grievances.The DIG exhorted upon the participants to extend full corporation to the police in their day to day duties in their respective areas by providing information regarding social evils, movement of suspicious persons, smuggling etc.
