Gujjars protests against IDRB

JAMMU, Apr 9:Various organizations of the scheduled tribe community protested against the Government's move to pass the discriminatory and controversial bill banning Inter-District Recruitment, today.
Addressing the demonstration, President Tehreek-e-Insaaf Party Mohammad Aslam Kohli warned the Government of dire consequences in the state over the passing of the Bill.
The demonstrators burnt the effigies of three prominent Gujjar leaders namely Choudhary Mohamad Aslam, Taj-Mohi-udin, and Mian Altaf for backstabbing the ST's and Gujjar population by supporting the Bill "It is ironic that when Taj Mohi-ud-udin hailing from district Kathua can become MLA from Uri.
The demonstrators further questioned that how person from other regions can be denied recruitments in district posts.
Prominent organizations participated in the protest included J&K Khana Badosh Gujjar and Bakerwal Tehreek-e-Insaff, All J&K Gujjar conference and All Gujjar Front besides other Gujjar and Bakerwal organizations.
