| Manjit inspects exam centres, asks invigilators to contain menace of copying | | | Srinagar, October 14 - Minister of State for Education S. Manjit Singh today inspected various examination centres established for conduct of 10th class annual examinations. The centres inspected include Burn Hall School, GGHSS, Kothi Bagh, SP Higher Secondary School and Hr. Secondary School Amira Kadal. Chairman Board of School Education, Prof. Nissar Ahmad Ganai, Director Academics, Dr. Sheikh Bashir Ahmad, Director School Education, Kashmir, Mr. Mohammad Rafi, Joint Secretary, BOSE, Mr. M.A. Naqash and senior officers af the department accompanied the Minister. The Minister expressed satisfaction over the arrangements made by the Board for smooth and fair conduct of examinations. He said that in order to curb menace of copying and to maintain transparency in the examinations, flying squads have been constituted for and frequent regular checking of centres all over the valley to check the menace of copying and unfair means. The steps taken by the Board have proved useful to check the menace of copying to a large extent. He underscored the need of parent, teacher cooperation to curb the menace of copying. He said that to raise the education standard in government schools some result-oriented schemes have been introduced to streamline the education sector. He said that education is a key to bring a revolution in personality developing and socio-economic transformation of the society. The Minister was apprised that 359920 students are appearing for the exam and 539 centres have been established for the purpose in the valley. |
