| Kashmiri scribes feel insecure | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, April 10: Kashmiri journalists have urged the government to make the findings of Aman Farooq enquiry report public. They also demanded appropriate action against the erring police officer. Aman Farooq a lens man with Greater Kashmir got injured when a police officer, Safdar Samoon allegedly shot at him on January 7 at Lal Chowk where he had gone to cover the aftermath of the Lal Chowk Fidayeen attack. The lens man sustained an injury in his thigh and was hospitalized. The government ordered an enquiry into the incident after journalists registered strong protest. The enquiry report has not been made public till date. The journalists at a meeting held today with senior journalist Altaf Husain in chair expressed deep anguish over what they described as insecure conditions created by the police. “The Lal Chowk incident had induced a deep sense of insecurity among media persons in the Valley”, the meeting held. The newsmen resolved to take up the issue with the authorities. The meeting was attended, among others, by President of Kashmir Press Association G H Kaloo, Editor Honour Rashid Ahmad, President of Kashmir Photographers Association Farooq Khan, Associate Editor of Greater Kashmir Arshad Husain Kaloo, Bureau Chief of Daily KashmirTimes Zahoor Malik, Masood Hussain, Riyaz Masroor, Sheikh Mushtaq, Izhar Wani, Mufti Islah, Inayat Jehangir, Muzaffar Raina, Fayaz Bukhari, Khursheed Wani, Peerzada Ashiq, S Tariq and Fayaz Ahmed Bhat.
