Jammu, Apr 10: Teachings of Guru Ravi Dassji have great relevance in the present scenario stated Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Mr. Raman Bhalla while paying tributes to the Guru Ravi Dass ji during a a religious gathering at Guru Ravi Dass Satsang Bhawan, Batote.
Bhalla said that the teaching of Guruji stand for mutual brotherhood, communal harmony and self-service.
The Minister said that the Government is fully aware to uplift the socio-economic status of the people, especially those living Below Poverty Line. He said that the Coalition Government, in a historic decision, has granted the implementation of 8% reservation for SC community in Government jobs in inter-district recruitment in the State. He called upon the people of these communities to come forward and avail maximum benefits out of the various Government sponsored schemes designed for their welfare.
Several deputations of Batote town called on the Minister and apprised him of their problems and demands including upgradation of PHC, maintenance of roads, Polytechnic College, Degree College and Government Girls Higher Secondary School.
Mr. Bhalla assured these would be looked into priority basis.
Responding to the demands of locals, Mr. Bhalla said that the Government has approved Rs. 30 crore for construction of four roads of Batote town including Sanasar, Papdia, Dharmoo and Baggu nallah besides 12 projects have been sanctioned for developing the different areas as tourist spot. He assured the demand of locals for the creation of tehsil headquarters at Batote would be examined.
