| Gaddi, Sippi tribes demands formation of advisory board | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 10: About 4000 persons belonging to Gaddi and Sippi communities and 50 delegates from Himachal Pradesh led by former MLA, Thakur Singh Barmohari participated in a day long convention hold here today was organized by all J&K Gaddi and Sippi tribes welfare association. Ex. Dy. Chief Minister Mangat Ram Sharma was the chief guest on the occasion. In the convention speakers highlighted the various problems and hardships being faced by the Gaddi and Sippi tribes. Addressing the convention, Professor BP Singh Chouhan, state president all J&K Gaddi Sippi association stated that all successive state government adopted an apathetic and discrimination stance towards under privileged and down trodden, tribes communities have been languished and dragged behind in all spheres of development. He also demanded establishments of advisory board for Gaddi and Sippi tribes, hostel facilities and scholarship for the students of Gaddi and Sippi tribes, abolition of all sub categories of ST category viz, STGB, STL, STK and STO, due recognition of Gaddi language in 6th schedule of J&K constitution, political reservation for ST at par with SC, nomination of one member of Gaddi Sippi Tribes for the upper house of state legislature establishment of offside campus of Indira Gandhi National tribes university Madhya Pradesh in Jammu. While addressing the convention chief guest, guest of honour and all the special invitees exhorted upon the state government for fulfilling the demands of the Gaddi and Sippi tribes at an earliest. Others who spoke on the occasion include Moti Ram, Shiv Charan, Badri Nath, Sheru Ram, Krishan lal Bhandari, vote of thanks was given by Mela Ram.
