4/10/2010 11:38:40 PM

Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 10: Reeling under the ever increasing price rise of the essential commodities with each passing day, the construction of the houses and other commercial establishment for the Jammuties would become more expensive as the rates of the construction material is going to increase by 20-25 percent.
The prices of the material used in the construction such as sand, grinded stones would be increased keeping in view the increased prices of Diesel and Petrol, new tenders by the Geological and Mining Department, chances of increased power tariff.
Talking to the TNI, president, Stone Crusher Association, Choudhary Vikram Randhawa said that we were forced to increase the prices of the construction material because of ever increasing input costs. Onus of this price rise lies on the state government, which was not paying any heed to repeated demands to provide concessions for the benefit of the common masses.
He appealed to the public that to avoid loss, only buy the construction material on the rates per square feet not on the lump-sump rates per trolley or tipper. Suresh Kumar-a government employee termed the price rise unfortunate and said that he had purchased some land in the out skirts of the city three years ago and I was about to start the construction work but price rise will increase my budget. He said it will affect middle family class badly.
