| Employees get support | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Apr 10: A day after the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah's talk offer, Employees Joint Consultative Committee (EJCC) today demanded release of arrested employees' leaders for finding out an amicable solution of existing problem in the larger interest of public. In a press statement issued here, EJCC as a gesture and in reciprocation offers to hold dialogue with the Chief Minister, said, "if they are properly invited and imposed restrictions are removed so that a solution to the problem could be find out in the best interest of the general public as well as the employees and before that all leaders of Employees belonging to different organizations like Abdul Qayoom Wani, Khursheed Alam, Sayeda Ladakhi (all JCC members), Ram Kumar Sharma and Pardeep Kumar (EJAC Jammu Chapter) be released so that they could also participate in the dialogue with the Chief Minister the dialogue can be held any time within 2 or 3 days." Meanwhile, in view of the ongoing strike, Joint Platform of Action of Government and Associate Services Employees' Organizations (All India Committee) through its Secretary Prem Chand has come forward in support of the just and genuine demands of the J&K State Government Employees and wrote a letter to Chief Minister of J&K State to immediately act on the demands of the employees and fulfill the same in order to restore normal functioning of the Government offices/institutions etc. He also asked the Chief Minister to stop "harassments", "cane-charging", "arrests" and "tortures" at the hands of the administration and the police and also scrap ESMA invoked on J&K State Govt. employees and release the arrested leaders and other employees without stigmatizing them. Otherwise he has threatened to bring this issue to the notice of the constituent bodies of other States to get ready for action, if the State Govt. fails to fulfill the demands of the State Govt. employees. In reply to the advertisements that are being got published in the daily newspapers circulated in the State, the JCC said that it is a clear indication of the vindictive attitude of the State Government towards its employees as the Government is draining the public money through unnecessary multi-coloured adds in different newspapers daily which speaks about the intention of the State Government to save and protect the Govt. money and State exchequer.
