| Dalit Maha Sabha hails passing of recruitment bill | | | Early Times Report Jammu , April 12 All J&K Dalit Maha Sabha, hailed the coalition partner for passing the historical bill and providing 8% reservation to the Scheduled Castes in all the districts of State. Addressing media persons, Chairman Vijay Lochan thanked the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, coalition partners and said that it could only be possible due to sincere efforts of Chief Minister for getting the inter district recruitments bill passed in Assembly.
He condemned the role of PDP in the assembly for opposing the bill and said the claim of a senior PDP leader that scheduled Castes be given reservation in the Districts according to the population is nothing but crocodiles tears. He questioned PDP that when they remained in Power from 2002 to 2008 in J&K why they failed to provide reservation to scheduled castes according to population during their regime. ‘Instead, it was the PDP which reduced the reservation in promotion from 8% to 4% and put the scheduled caste employees of J&K in loss in their promotion during their regime’, he added.
