| Fix fee structures in pvt schools, NSF urges govt | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 11: Vikas Sharma, President, National Secular Forum has criticised the government's role for keeping silence over the hefty fees being charged by the Private Schools in J&K. He said that the admissions for the new session have started, these private schools have started charging heavy amount from the parents. Sharma said that the students are being forced by the school administration to purchase their books, uniforms etc from the school itself and not from any other place. He said that these schools have become money making centers. He said the poor parents who hardly meet the both ends meet and want to admit their children in private schools for quality education have to go through tough time as they have to deposit heavy amount for the admission of their wards. In a press conference here today, Sharma said that hundreds of private schools are operating in J&K, but so far no fee structure has been laid by the government bodies for the admission process. He said that government should frame statues in the fee structures for the admission process in the private schools and also keep an eye on the working of these schools. He, further, said that Minister for School Education Peezada Mohd. Sayeed has also taken this for granted and no such step has been taken to control the hefty amount being charged by the Private Schools operating in J&K. He appealed the chief minister to form a committee to enquire into the hefty amount being charged by the Private Schools operating in J&K. |
