| AKKA organises awareness programme at Reasi | | | REASI, OCTOBER 14 - Jammu and Kashmir Almi Khudai Khidmatgar Association (AKKA) Jammu organized an awareness programme for keeping house and vicinity clean and green under “Solid Waste Management” at Government High School, Kambal Danga in Reasi tehsil of Udhampur district yesterday. Sub Divisional Magistrate Reasi Mr. Ajeet Kumar Sahu who inaugurated the programme was the chief guest while President Municipal Committee, Reasi, Mr. Kuldeep Mengi presided over the function. During the awareness programme, debate, painting and essay writing competitions were held in which the students of Government High School, Kambal Danga and other schools from adjoining areas participated. The students who spoke on the occasion expressed their views and measures for keeping the house and vicinity clean and green. They also suggested measures for solid waste management. In the debate competition, Mr. Varun Sharma of Bal Niketan, Miss Neha Sharma of Trikuta High School, Reasi and Miss Ujala Devo of Middle School, Aghar Ballian were declared 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively. In Essay writing Miss Arti Magotra of Bal Niketan, Mr. Sahil Singh of Lawrance HSS, Reasi and Miss Reeta Devi of Middle School Aghar Ballian were adjudged 1st, 2nd and 3rd while in drawing competition, Mr. Daleep Singh of HS Kamble Danga, Miss Neha Sharma of Trikuta High School and Miss Ujala Devi of Middle School Aghar Ballian were declared 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively. All the best speakers were awarded while consolation prizes were also given to all the participant students on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, the SDM stressed upon the people especially students to spread the message of keeping the house and vicinity clean by way of modern techniques to others. He asked the association to organize such more programmes in other areas to make the people aware. President, Municipal Committee, Reasi speaking on the occasion thanked the association for holding the programme. He asked the house wives and shopkeepers to put the waste material in the dust bins and do not threw it in open places to keep their houses and vicinities. |
