| AIKS takes up problems of KPs in Valley | | | Early Times Report JAMMu, Apr 12: To highlight the problems of Kashmiri Pandits staying in the Valley and the condition of temples and shrines belonging to them, Moti Kaul, President, AIKS organised a press conference at Srinagar here today,. Speaking to the media, he mentioned that this was the 20th year of exile of Kashmiri Pandits forced on them in early 1990. As a result the entire Hindu minority of Kashmir had to leave Kashmir unceremoniously. A small number of fellow community members stayed in Kashmir braving all the odds but their economic condition is miserable. Interacting with the journalists, Koul said. that KP's who got internally dislocated during to turmoil ,ave still not been given suitable accommodation .He demanded that they be accorded accommodation till such time the conditions become conducive for their return to original homes.The other important issue is the increasing unemployment amongst the youth, which has remained unattended so far. There is a growing frustration among the youth as the age is also fast catching up with them.He drew the attention of the media towards the deplorable condition of temples and shrines in the different parts of Valley . He made a specific mention of illegal encroachment and land grabbing of the lands belonging to many of temples and shrines. He quoted a specific instance of his visit yesterday to a well known Asthapan of Shri Jeevan Sahib Lidhu and Ram temple at Safakadal .
