Traders asked to display rate lists at conspicuous places

REASI, OCTOBER 14-Keeping in view the coming Diwali and Id festivals the Assistant Director, CA&PD Udhampur Mr Arvind Sharma along with Tehsil Supply Officer Reasi Mr Ghar Singh conducted visit to Reasi bazaar and bus stand area to check the proper display of rate lists of essential commodities.
During the surprise check 13 shopkeepers were challaned for lot displaying rate lists at their business establishments and an amount of Rs.1000 was realized as fine from the defaulters on the spot.
The Assistant Director CAPD has directed the TSO Reasi to keep proper vigil on the shopkeepers and conduct check regularly upto ensuing festivals.
The shops which were checked include karyana shops, fruit sellers, meat sellers, halwaies, hotels and tea stalls. He has asked all the shopkeepers to esnure proper display of rate lists at their shops and not to use domestic cylinders at their business establishments. Any body found guilty would be punished under law, he warned.
