| Need to generate awareness on Pollution stressed | | | JAMMU, OCTOBER 14-Jingoistically forwarding their arguments as also supportive evidences that have variably played havoc with the environment, the students of Government Middle School, Tange Wali Gali argued about its hazards on human beings besides deep impact on ozone depletion. Participating in the symposium organized by the Department of Information Jammu on ‘Pollution’ here this morning, the students highlighted different forms of pollution and their direct impact on our living. Expressing concern over increasing pollution, the speakers stressed for creating awareness among masses particularly regarding noise and environment pollution. On the occasion, they pledged to make efforts to educate people of their areas on the need to curb pollution and make maximum possible contribution in controlling it. The best adjudged speakers were presented awards arranged by the Information Department. Miss Shabeena of class 8th was declared first while Miss Manisha of class 6th and Miss Sudesh Kundal of 8th standard bagged second and third prizes respectively. Consolation prizes were also given to other participants. An impressive cultural programme was presented by the artists of cultural wing of Information Department that received immense applause. The Dogri folk songs and skit ‘Unpad Prah’ was appreciated by the audience. Principal of the school thanked the department and suggested for organizing similar programme which would boost the morale of students besides building confidence in them to exhibit their talent. |
