Romesh assures supply of additional water tankers

JAMMU, OCTOBER 14: Minister of State for Public Health Engineering and Flood Control Dr Romesh Chander Sharma today visited various areas of Jammu and took stock of drinking water being supplied through tankers.
The Minister who was accompanied by corporator ward No 24 Mr. Arun Khanna, Executive Engineer City-I, Prem Pal, PHE employee’s leader Shiv Kumar visited Rehari Colony, Lower Sarwal and Subash Nagar area and interacted with the people of the area. He was told that the water supply of the area was affected after the old intake pump house of Sitlee was damaged due to flash floods.
The Minister said that the coalition government is committed to provide safe portable drinking water to the people of the state particularly those areas which are still to be connected properly.
The Minister issued on spot directions to the engineers to enhance the number of the water Tankers for the affected areas. The Minister was informed that new bore wells are being connected with the service lines of these areas with in couple of weeks to over come the scarcity of water in these areas.
