| Shiv Sena holds protest against coalition | | Employees strike | |
EARLY TIMES REPORT KATHUA, Apr 13: District unit of Shiv Sena (Thackeray) today held a massive protest in front of Mini Secretariat in favour of state government employees, who are struggling for their long pending demands including proper implementation of the sixth pay commission recommendations and clearance of pending arrears since 2006. Shiv Sena activists led by Narinder Tangri burnt the effigy of coalition government and shouted slogans against the administration for invoking ESMA on employees. Addressing the protesters, Tangri said the employees, who are the back bone of the state, provide the services at grass root level to the common man are being brutally beaten up by the administration while the MLAs, MPs and ministers' salaries have been increased manifold. Shiv Sena activists warned the government that if the demands of employees are not conceded soon, the state should ready to face the dire consequences
