JKPCC pays tributes to Dr Ambedkar

JAMMU, Apr 14: Rich tributes were paid to Bharat Ratan Dr BR Ambedkar on his 119th Birth Anniversary in several functions organised by different political outfits and social organizations here today.
In a function, which was part of 125th year of Congress foundation celebrations throughout the year, at Jammu Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Headquarters Shaheedi Chowk, the party activists led by their President and former Union Minister Prof Saifuddin Soz (MP) paid tributes to BR Ambedkar.
Paying tributes to Dr Ambedkar, PCC president Prof Soz recalled his contribution as chairman of the drafting committee of Constitution of India and said that our constitution is a Social Bible which has capacity to unite and integrate the society.
He said that Indian Constitution, one of the best document in the world, which guarantees equality before law and equal protection of law irrespective of caste, creed or colour to every citizen and also liberty of ideas and views and to possess his own religion and faith. The Indian Constitution has stood the test of time. He referred to the view of former Russian President Gorbachaov who repented that such a written constitution like India was not in practice in Russia, which could have prevented the chaos and anarchy that was being witnessed when he introduced reforms to democratize the system in his country. This indicates the uniqueness of our constitution framed under the guidance of Dr BR Ambedkar.
Other senior leaders who were present on the occasion include Member Parliament Madan Lal Sharma; Sr Vice Presidents Dharam Pal Sharma, Amrit Malhotra-MLC; Vice Presidents Th. Hari Singh, Yash Pal Khajuria, Ghulam Haider Sheikh, Gurmukh Singh; General Secretary and Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma-MLC; BR Kundal-MLC.
In another function, Dr Babasahib BR Ambedkar Young Blood Welfare Society, Ranjitpura, Jammu celebrated the 119th birth anniversary of BR Ambedkar with fervour and gaiety.
On the occasion, rich tributes were paid to BR Ambedkar in the in the form of poems recitation, garlanding of portrait, distribution of sweets and eatables besides reconstitution of Executive Committee of the society.
Election for the posts of President, Vice-President, General Secretary and Cashier was held under the chairmanship of TR Azad.
Abhi Ambedkar was elected as President, Akash Angral as Vice President, Devinder Angurana as General Secretary and Rita Angurana as Cashier.
Newly elected office bearers promised to work hard for the propagation of Dr Ambedkar’s mission.
