Businessman’s son held for raping domestic servant

Jammu, Oct 14 : Police has registered a case and arrested son of a businessman for allegedly outraging the modesty of his minor domestic servant in Lakhdata Bazar locality of Jammu city, late Thursday evening.
The victim identified as Rani (name changed), a resident of Jarkhand state reportedly lodged a complaint before Peer Mitha Police Station about the incident following which her medical examination was conducted. The medical test has confirmed rape as a result of which the accused was arrested, official sources told News Agency of Kashmir, here today.
Giving details, a senior police officer said, on the condition of anonymity, that Rani was working as a domestic help in the house of Chanchal Arrora in Lakhdata Bazar area, where she was kept by her maternal uncle, few months back.
The girl, about fourteen years of age, approached police station Peer Mitha Friday and alleged that she was a victim of rape. “The girl alleged that while she was working on the rooftop of the shop, son her employer Ankur Arora came on the spot and subjected me to sexual assault”, sources said.
The has girl further claimed that though she tried to raise alarm but was threatened of dire consequences by the accused Ankur, who managed to rape her forcibly at least twice on the roof top. “Ankur has done it in past as well and he had threatened to kill me in case I revealed this to any one”, the girl reportedly told the police.
If police has to be believed, the girl has also named her employer Chanchal Arrora for boosting his son. “When I revealed the matter to Chanchal she thrashed me and directed me not to tell about the incident to any body else”, the girl reportedly claimed.
Based on the complaint, police has registered a case under Section 323/376/109 RPC against Ankur Arrora and arrested. The family is reportedly running a shop of gift items in Lakhdata Bazar area.
