| CPI (M) disagrees with HC verdict | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Apr 14: Jammu and Kashmir State Committee, CPI (M) expressed its disagreement with the J&K High Court verdict regarding employees strike. “The right to dissent and to organize voluntary protest actions is inalienable rights of the people in a democratic polity, enshrined in the Indian Constitution,” it said, adding “If such rights are stifled either by courts or by executive, it will only encourage the forces which stand for autocracy and violence.” The CPI (M) urged the government of J&K to revoke ESMA and release all the activists detained recently in connection with the employees strike forthwith. It also appealed both the government and the employee’s representatives to sort out the issues through negotiations.
