| Suman Gupta invited to participate in All India Artists show | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Apr 14: Suman Gupta, Internationally reputed artist belonging to J&K State, has been invited by the vinnyasa premier art gallery, Chennai to participate in “Continuing Modernity “ an exhibition of contemporary artists from India working in different medium and styles. The exhibition is being organized by the gallery in Chennai from April 18 to 30, 2010. Vinnyasa premier art gallery is a contemporary art gallery committed to creating a greater awareness and understanding of contemporary Indian art ,the gallery houses one of the largest and most comprehensive collections of works by the fabled masters, senior and emerging artists of India. It is, therefore, important to contextualize the cluster of artists participating in the show, as belonging to the vibrant and decisive decades of 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s, when they marked their emergence through passionate dedication, consistent hard work and foremost a vision to speak in different artistic voices and vocabulary, to proudly contour their presence within the national and international milieu. A number of well known Indian artists have been invited to participate in this Exhibition. Some of the leading participating artists in the Exhibition are, Haku shah, T.Vaikuntam, AmitAmblal, AchuthanKudallur, Arpana kaur , C.Douglas, Yusuf Arakal And Manish Pushkale, Sanjay kumar etc. Suman gupta will be sending two of his new Works for this exhibition. The titles of the works are “spring in Wild” and “Raffiq” both done in tempera and dry brush on paper. Suman Gupta’s solo show “Solitude and contemplation” (Two decades of art) has been shown in the “Rinchen bZangpo Art Gallery” General Zorawar Singh Auditorium, by University of Jammu Which would remain open till April 20.
