| Saroori takes stock of road projects | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT THATHRI Apr 14: The Minister for R&B, G.M.Saroori has said that several initiatives have been taken by the Government to tackle the unemployment problem by exploring employment avenues for educated unemployed youth of the State. He said the employment package announced by the Government recently was aimed to generate employment opportunities for educated, skilled and unskilled youth of the State. The Minister said this while addressing a series of public meetings at Thathri, Jakyas, Dunadhi, Bathri and Googara villages. Chief Engineer, PMGSY, Sub Divisional Magistrate, Thathri, Superintending Engineer, General Manager, JKPCC, senior engineers and officers of various departments, besides senior congress leader Ghulam Mustafa Azad accompanied the Minister. Saroori said that the Government is aware of the problems of the people living in rural, hilly and remote areas of the State, adding that every possible step is being taken by it to improve basic facilities in these areas. He said road connectivity is primary need for development and the objective of launching Prime Ministers Gram Sarak Yojna (PMGSY) was to provide road connectivity to every village of the State. Responding to the local demands for adequate and timely supply of ration and fertilizers, Saroori said that concerned authorities have been asked to ensure availability of adequate quantaity of ration and fertilizer in these hilly and remote areas. The Minister assured the people that the fertilizer would be dispatched to these areas in next few days. Senior Congress Leader, Ghulam Mustafa Azad also spoke on the occasions and highlighted the policies and programmes of the coalition Government.
