| JK Govt striving to provide all facilities to people: Bhalla | | Renames Roop-Nagar Digiana chowk as Dr. Ambedkar chowk | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Apr 14: Reiterating the Coalition Government’s commitment to put the State on the path of progress and prosperity, the Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Raman Bhalla, today said that every endeavour is being made to provide all basic facilities to the people of all the three regions of the State. He said that the Government is striving hard to fulfil all the aspirations of the people of the State, especially on developmental front and therefore men and machinery has been geared up to improve the infrastructural facilities. “The Centre government, headed by Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh too has realized J&K’s needs and thus has provided liberal funding for completing the ongoing projects on modern lines,” he said and asked the officers to work in coordination and complete all the projects within stipulated time- frame . Earlier, on the occasion of Baisakhi Festival, the Minister inaugurated various establishments, including Gulmohar Janak Food and Cater at Greater Kailash, Grace Looks at Parade Ground, Global Talent Track at Gandhi Nagar and Gurunanak Agro Food Products at Makhanpur Salehar in Bishnah. Addressing a gathering at Bishnah, Bhalla greeted the people on Baisakhi and Foundation Day of Khalsa Panth and said that the Government will explore all possibilities to provide jobs to un-employed youth both in public and private sectors. On the 119th birthday of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, the Minister also attended a function at Roop Naghar Digiana, to pay rich tributes to the framer of the Indian Constitution. On the demand of the people of the area, Bhalla renamed Roop Nagar Digiana Chowk as ‘Dr. Ambedkar Chowk’. Addressing a gathering, Bhalla said that Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s role in shaping of modern India should not be forgotten. He led millions of the oppressed to a life of self-respect, dignity, and responsibility. Later, the Minister also visited Gurudawars at Channi Himmat, Digiana, Sanjay Nagar and Sainik Colony and paid obeisance and prayed for the peace and prosperity of the State.
