| Hospital supply on sale in SKIMS | | Chief pharmacist attached with HOD Pharmacology | | Srinagar, October 14: Director Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences has attached chief pharmacist of the Institute’s Pharmacy sale counter for allegedly selling free Hospital Supply to the poor patents of SKIMS. Informed sources told News agency of Kashmir that continuous complaints about the hospital supply being sold in the open market was pouring in before the Director SKIMS from last more than three months. It was reliably learnt that Antibiotic Injections ‘AGUMENTIN 1.2 mg’ meant for post operative patents are being supplied free of cost in SMHS Hospital and the same after black-marketing in connivance with the Hospital staff and suppliers were being sold in Pharmacy sale counter of North India’s prestigious Institute SKIMS. Sources said that chief pharmacist Nazir Ahmad Pattoo was the in charge of the sale counter and the supply was received by him only. The racket was unearthed when one of the salesmen got suspicious when he minutely examines the rate of the injection. The sales man after scratching the print and found written HOSPITAL SUPPLY NOT FO SALE sources said adding that the sales man brought the manipulation to the notice of the higher authorities. It is pertinent to mention here that such type of black-marketing the government supply of medicines has been reported so many times. Sources said that the antibiotic injection which was sold against the payment of rupees one hundred is actually free of cost in SMHS and the market rate of the same drug is about two hundred.
