| Her father abuses, stones prowling journalists | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Apr 14: While daughter Sunanda is at the centre of the Kochi IPL controversy over her 18 per cent "free" equity in the mega cricketing event, father too invited a controversy when, instead of replying to the queries of media persons who visited his residence here for his comments, he today stoned and abused them. The house of Lt Col (retd) PN Dass in sector 5 of Chhani Himmat was the focus of media attention today after his daughter Sunanda figured in the IPL controversy and also because of her purported links with minister of state for external affairs, Shashi Tharoor. Reporters and cameramen, who gathered outside the house, were greeted by abuses from Lt Col Dass. He first told the visiting reporters and camerapersons to go away. However, when they continued to hurl questions, he showered abuses on them. Police sources said he gave an earful to mediapersons, besides pelting stones and bricks, which forced them to escape from the place. The Dass family had migrated to Jammu in 1990 when their house was burnt by militants at Bommai in Sopore, Kashmir. Tharoor is reportedly planning to marry 48-year-old divorced Sunanda after divorcing his second wife, who is a Canadian. Talking to this correspondent, Dass said his daughter had faced many ordeals in her life and pleaded that she be left alone.
