| Body recovered from Chenab | | | JAMMU: The body of a youth, suspected to be that of the son of ex-MLC Brij Mohan Sharma, was recovered from river Chenab at Pul-Doda this evening.
The body was found floating in the river waters at about 7 pm by some passersby, who informed police.
Police sources said cops immediately reached the spot and removed the body to the Doda district hospital where it was kept in the mortuary for identification.
On its right arm "SS" was scribbled with indelible ink, the sources added.
Since the name of Brij's son was Sourabh Sharma, ie SS, police suspected that the body could be that of Sourabh. Since Brij lives in Jammu, his relatives from Kishtwar had reached Doda hospital for the identification of the body.
Sources said as light was off in Doda town and had not come till 10.45 pm, it was decided that the relatives would do the exercise of identifying the body tomorrow.
Though they went to the mortuary tonight too, they could not identify the body due to darkness, the sources added.
Sourabh, a BCA student, had drowned in Chenab on March 21 at Kandni in Kishtwar under mysterious circumstances.
