| RSS supports 'homeland' for KPs | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Apr 15: Rashtriya Sainik Sansthan (RSS), national level organization of decorated and distinguished former officers of Indian armed forces pledged its unconditional support to displaced Kashmiri Pandits' demand for a separate Union Territory in the North and East of River Jehlum. Addressing a huge gathering in Barout near Baghpat, National President Col (Retd) T P Tyagi condemned successive governments for their failure to address the issues concerning displacement of an entire patriotic community on the basis of faith from an integral part of country. He observed the history is replete with the instances of people taking refuge in other countries in order to escape the political persecution but the example of displaced Kashmiri Pandits is unique in itself to the extent that they are the only people who have been rendered refugees in their own country. Tyagi, was speaking on the second day of the three day Dedication Programme organized by the Western UP chapter of Rashtriya Sainik Sanstha to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar and to pay tributes to the freedom fighters instrumental in getting independence for the country. Earlier, welcoming a ten member Panun Kashmir delegation lead by Dr. Agnishekhar, Col (Retd) Tyagi termed the displaced Kashmiri Pandit struggle of noble mission and homeland demand a patriotic call for the unity of the country. Let. Gen. (Retd.) Ex. Governor B.K.N.Chibbar felicitated Dr. Agnishekhar along with Himani Savarkar, Kiranjeet Singh and Raghunath Pandey family members of three great Martyrs viz. Veer Savarkar, Sardar Baghat Singh and Mangal Pandey respectively. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Agnishekhar cautioned the people against the divisionary forces operating in the country. He also lamented the treatment given to the real patriotic people in the country.
