4/15/2010 11:57:20 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Apr 16: Accusing Central government of discriminating with Jammu, People Revolutionary Movement (PRM) has threatened it of dire consequences if local academician is not appointed as Vice Chancellor, Central Unive-rsity Jammu. Addr-essing to media person here today, Rajinder Jamwal, PRM leader took central leadership of national parties including ruling to task while squarely blaming them of undermining the Jammu with continued "neglect" and "insult" to the Jammuites who always have stood test of the time.
"No compromise would be made on the appointment of a local academician as the vice Chancellor of the Central University Jammu. It is not only for the Central University but also for other prestigious institutions of the State. After imposing outsiders on prestigious key positions, government of India seems not to relent and to give up its anti-Jammu stand and now of late granted unbridled powers and authority to the heads of the security forces to act arbitrarily and unreasonably without caring and paying heed to the local grievances," the PRM leader said. He also held local leadership of political parties including ministers equally responsible for under representation and failure to project the genuine cause of Jammu and reminded them of their duties and promises made with public.
Jamwal questioned the stand of elected representatives from Jammu on the issue and sought clarification from them whether they support the appointment and local incumbent for the Jammu Central University and appealed the people to check and question the legislators about their stand on the issue. He cited an example of latest selection list of class IV employees in CRPF at its centre at Bantalab wherein out of all 12 candidates only three candidates were selected from J&K. He exhorted the people especially youth to be ready and prepare themselves for the struggle.
