| Chib pays surprise visit to KG Polytechnic College | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, Apr 15: Minister for Medical Education, Technical Education, Youth Services and Sports, RS Chib paid a surprise visit of K.G. Polytechnic College here today and inspected the functioning of various units of the college. The Minister took stock of the renovation work going on Library Block and Administrative Block of the college. He directed the JKPCC agency engaged in renovation work to speed up the pace of work on war footing basis so that the students concerned are benefitted. Interacting with the faculty and students of the college, Chib said that the government is considerate of starting degree in engineering and upgrading the quality of technical education in this Institute. He impressed upon the staff and students to make coordinated efforts in maintaining discipline and pollution free atmosphere in the Institute. Principal of the college, Shaista Shamim while apprising the Minister about functioning of the college said that 930 students are on the rolls of the college and several significant courses are being taught to them with great zeal and dedication so that they are able to face the competitions on national and international level. She informed the Minister that some of the government departments are functioning within the K.G. Polytechnic Campus, causing disturbances and inconvenience to the normal functioning of the Institute. The Minister assured that the matter will be discussed shortly with concerned authorities to find solution of the problem.
