| Soz's 'harmonization tactics' irks Mufti | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, April 15: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee chief, Saif-ud-Din's "harmonization tactics" to defend the ruling dispensation headed by the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, though on several occasions, has brought discomfort in Mufti Mohammad Sayeed's Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) camp.
The PDP, which had coalition with the Congress party till 2008, in its usual modus-operandi tried to hijack the issue on regional bases but harmonized tactics of Soz did not allow it happen. Instead of allowing the passage of Inter-district recruitment Bill to become bone of contention between regions and religions Soz in coordination with present coalition managed to get bill passed with amendments.
Not only has this but calling off ten days long strike by employees of the state also spoiled all the hopes of the PDP. Coalition government under the guidance of PCC chief managed to motivate employees in the interest of common masses of state.
Every hurdle in the smooth function of government was plus point for opposition PDP, but solution to every issue by Soz led Congress in coalition with National Conference did not sooth Mufti camp, which in turn, irked them.
Soz's vision of equal development of three regions of the state irrespective of caste, colour and creed distinguishes him from other politicians of Valley including Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
Soz according to Congress manifesto is committed for the upliftment of poor and unprivileged section of society. Reservation of Scheduled Caste in every district was a step forward in that direction which according to Mufti led PDP ideology amounted to murder of democracy.
It is relevant to mention that PDP expressed it discontent over the passage of bill amendment, allowing 8% reservation to SC aspirants in all districts. But on the other hand it claims in equality and communal harmony. Double standard utilized by PDP had exposed their stand was quoted by leader of SC community few days ago.
