Slathia appreciates efforts of Private sector in spreading quality education

JAMMU, APRIL 16- Minister for Industries and Commerce, Mr. S. S. Slathia today urged upon the teaching community and parents to equally share the responsibility of imparting quality education and moral values to their wards to ensure that the future of the nation goes in right hands.

The Minister was addressing Annual Day function of an educational institution in village Bassi Kalan in Vijaypur block in Samba district.

Former Minister, Mr. Gulchain Singh Charak, besides Chief Education Officer, Samba, Mr. Kuldeep Singh present on the occasion.

Mr. Slathia appreciated the efforts of private sector in spreading quality education, especially in rural areas and added that it is the joint responsibility of both parents and teachers to shape the lives of students by inculcating moral values side by side education. He asked the parents to extend their cooperation to the school authorities in this behalf adding that this will supplement the efforts of the teachers. He also stressed for girl education and maintained that their proper education was the pre-requisite for making a healthy society. He said that it has been universally observed that teaching a boy means teaching an individual and teaching a girl means teaching a family.

The Minister also distributed prizes among the students of different classes who have excelled in different academic and co-curricular activities during the previous session.

Students of the school presented a variety cultural programme on the occasion, based on social values etc which was lauded by the audience.

Earlier, Principal of the School read out the annual report of depicting achievements of the school.

A large number of people, including parents, prominent citizens of the area, besides management and students of the school were also present.
