4/17/2010 12:17:22 AM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Apr 16: A day after the Army Chief General V K Singh’s statement that dilution of Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) would impinge operations against terrorists and insurgents, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today said that no right thinking person can think about lowering of the guards in this troubled-torn State.

Former Union Minister and Leader of the BJP Legislators Party, Chaman Lal Gupta emphasized on firm approach to tackle the menace of terrorism and all sorts of other “anti-national” activities and indicted those “elements”, especially operating through the Congress-National Conference coalition, pleading for curtailing of the powers of the security forces by getting influenced of the boggy being raised under a design in the name of violation of human rights by the controversial characters.

He maintained that there is no let up in the enemy designs and cross border terror is still going on unabated. “The allegations of violation of human rights and pleading for withdrawal of troops and curtailing of their powers, are part of the designs which are being aired under communal and other such like considerations, are meant for indirectly helping the enemies of peace and unity of the country who are operating in various guises,” he alleged.

The BJP leader further said that if the situation is not worry some and the dangers have been minimized, then why they are getting more increased Security Related Grants from the Centre. He termed the manipulations as hypocratic in a bid to mislead the people and indirectly encourage secessionists and black-mailing the country.

Gupta also made a poser that if the normalcy has returned, then why they are failing to get return and rehabilitation of the migrants who also include over two thousand Muslim families and have been registered in Jammu
