4/17/2010 12:38:16 AM
Early Times Report
RAJOURI, Apr 16:
Fed up with the government's lackadaisical approach towards providing a clean administration, locals, in a sting operation, filmed a junior assistant of revenue department while allegedly accepting bribe from nomads.
Nomads are issued Permit Certificates by the revenue department to move towards pastures during summers.
Following reports that junior assistant Zakir Hussain was allegedly charging Rs 50 to Rs 200 from nomads, a photographer, accompanied by some locals, reached the former's office and filmed him taking money from nomads.
The locals later went to the office of additional deputy commissioner Robin Singh Mehta and showed him the recording.
Sources said after watching the film, Mehta assured action against the junior assistant.
