| NSUI to campaign for Municipal elections | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Apr 17: To strengthen the prospect of the candidates of Congress in forthcoming Municipal elections, the National Students Union of India (NSUI)-the student wing of Congress has decided to support and work for the victory of party candidates.
Addressing the media persons, state president NSUI Abdul Rashid Choudhary said that it was decided in the meeting of NSUI activists held recently that they would work dedicatedly for the party candidates in the elections for local bodies. He further said that NSUI will propagate the programme and policies of the UPA government at the centre and state level. Choudhary also said that Right to Education, Right to Information, and development in the urban areas would remain on focus during the campaign.
He also revealed that respective in-charges for the districts will be ex-officio coordinators for municipal councils and town area committees in the district. Others who were present on the occasion included Aijaz Mehr, Raj Kamal Arya, Rajeev Singh Manhas, Varun Magotra, Sajad Ahmed, Fairoz Khan and Bageshwar Sharma.
