| Rajouri gets Rs 30 crore under RGVY | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Apr 17: Minister of State for Power and CA&PD, Shabir Ahmad Khan has said that Rs. 30 crore are being utilized for upgradation of power scenario in Rajouri district under Rajiv Gandhi Vidhutikaran Yojana (RGVY), adding that all the un-covered hamlets and villages of the area would be electrified by 2012. Addressing public meetings at Khdlan and Lohbawli, Rajouri today, the Minister announced Rs. 5 lakh for improvement of HT and LT lines in Lah area. He said Rs. 15 lakh would also be expended in Saj area of the district for improvement of electricity. Shabir said that the tourism potential of Lohbawli is being explored like other tourism potential areas of the district, adding that Rs. 35 lakh are being expended in first phase for the beautification and construction of huts in the area. The Minister assured the people for construction of Lahbawli-Ahlidahara road adding that necessary instructions have already been issued to the concerned authorities for formulation of a project report for approval of the Government. He reiterated that all round development of hilly and kandi areas is prime objective of the Government. He said a number of exemplary steps have been taken for socio-economic upliftment of weaker sections.
