| JKBSG starts centenary celebrations of world guide movement | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Apr 17: J&K Bharat Scouts and Guides Association ( JKBSG) , Jammu in connection with " Centenary Celebrations of World Guide Movement in the year 2010-11," organized a function at its State Headquarters, Gandhinagar, Jammu today which about 100 Guides of more than 8 Schools of Jammu District participated. Captain Daya Ram Attri a noted Philanthropist was the Chief Guest on this auspicious occasion, whereas Prof. Rita Mengi, eminent Educationist presided over the function. Raj Sharma, Advisor, Nasreen Khan, State Commissioner (G), Prabha Jain, Joint State Commissioner, M.M Joshi, Trained Commissioner and the Principals of the reputed schools were special invitiess. I.D Soni, State Commis-sioner(S) welcomed the Chief Guest, Guests and Head of the Institutions and apprised them of this fact that the main objective of Guiding is to imbibe a vision of unity/integration and to inculcate among the children the basic value to achieve the object. The Chief Guest in his most impressive address appreciated the role of the Guide Movement and noted with satisfaction the excellence achieved by the Guides of the State. He further stressed that Guiding is well needed Education and it should reach to every corner of the State. Prof. Rita Mengi, in her presidential address praised the role of the association in developing character among young girls towards happy citizenships through natural rather than artificial means. Some Guides also spoke on the subject according to the theme and presented skits, Group Songs and very colourful items. On this occasion the Chief Guest ( Captain D.R.Attri) donated a Refrigerator and a Stablizer to the State Heqdquarters of Bharat Scouts and Guides, Jammu which was highly appreciated by one and all present in the function.
