| Security agencies resolve to maintain pressure on ultras | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Apr 17: In view of the disturbing inputs that militants were waiting to infiltrate into J&K and also because of the forthcoming durbar move to Srinagar, a core group meeting of army, para-military forces, police, civil and intelligence agencies was held at the Nagrota-based headquarters of White Knight Corps. The meeting reviewed the security situation threadbare, according to official sources. Among others, the meeting was attended by General Officer Commanding 16 Corps and Security Advisor Lt Gen Rameshwar Roy, DGP Kuldeep Khuda, special DG CRPF, ADGP CID, commissioner SB, IGP, and IG BSF. Lt Gen Roy complimented security forces, intelligence agencies and civil administration for achieving high degree of synergy, enviable harmony and immense coordination amongst themselves towards a common and national cause and also efficiently handling internal security situation in Jammu region. He attributed the downward slide in terrorism to the jointmanship amongst the entire security set up in the state. He stressed the need to maintain continuous pressure and moral ascendancy over the terrorists, who had by and large been marginalized. The Lt Gen said the coming months were crucial and security forces needed to be extra vigilant to neutralize the designs of anti-national elements. The meeting ended with a resolve on part of all present to maintain continuous pressure on the terrorists and ensure that complete peace was maintained in the region.
