| Dr Ambedkar's 120th birth anniversary celebrated | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Apr 18: To commemorate the 120th birth anniversary of Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar, a comprehensive programme highlighting different aspects of the life, work and mission of the leader was held at IIIM Auditorium.
People from different walks of life gathered at the venue to get apprised about the contributions of renowned personality who had written the preamble of the Constitution of India.
Speaking on the occasion, S L Bharti, President Dr. B R Ambedkar Educational Foundation (BREF) said that organization has been conducting various awareness programmes about the achievements and contributions of Dr Ambedakar to make the people aware about the significant role played by him in framing the Constitution of India.
"It has been always a privilege to conduct such programme to highlight the contributions of the son of soil, who besides being faced with many impediments of social and caste barriers had risen to greater heights in achieving the impossible," said S L Bharti adding that the awareness programme would lead towards enlighting the people over the issue.
On the occasion various national luminaries were present who read paper on life and mission of life of Dr Ambedkar.
Dr Subhash Musafir and Raj Kumar who had specially flown from Palampur to attend the function praised the efforts of Foundation in promoting and disseminating the awareness among the society.
Later a movie on Dr Ambedkar was screened in the auditorium that was followed by a cultural programme participated by children drawn from different schools.
