| JSM condemns delay in appointment of CU VC | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Apr 18: Jammu State Morcha (JSM) has strongly condemned the delay in appointing the Vice Chancellor of Jammu Central University and asks for an immediate appointment of the same. Addressing media persons here today, Vice President Capt Anil Gour said that the delay in the appointment of Vice Chancellor will delay the whole process of establishment of this Central University, whereas Central University in Kashmir Province has started its functioning more than a year back. This delay would also harm the interests of the students and people of Jammu province. He said that this would be a further insult to people of Jammu province as more than one year has already been lost in establishing the Jammu Central University here due to mischievous designs of Kashmiri leaders. Jammu State Morcha also demands that a person from Jammu region be appointed as the Vice Chancellor of the upcoming Jammu Central University. Gour said that Jammu State Morcha will in no case tolerate the appointment of Prof Amitabh Mattoo for the Central University as it is alleged that students, University and College teachers, and society at large did not have good experience of his functioning as the Jammu University was made as hub of political activities, encouraging the secessionism and anti-India activities. Under him the administrative system of the University crumbled along-with the violation of statutes; rules and regulations to accommodate favorites in teaching and university administration was done with impunity. There are also reports of the misappropriation of funds and large scale corruption and bungling . JSM, while demanding for the appointment of a person from Jammu region as Vice Chancellor for Jammu Central University; also demands that an enquiry be conducted for the administrative and financial actions taken in the Jammu University during past 7 years to bring out the factual truth regarding the functioning of the University under the various Vice Chancellors till date.
