| PK organizes dialogue on current socio- political scenario | | | Early times report Jammu, Apr 18: The Panun Kashmir Youth wing organized an Inter Community Dialouge on current Socio-political scenario here today. The main motive behind organizing such dialogue was to deliberate upon the recent burning issues of Socio-political nature affecting the minority people of state. The panelists during the dialogue were Dr Jitender Singh, Sunil Sethi, Veena Handa and OP Sharma, while the programme was presided over by President, Panun Kashmir, Ashwani Chrungoo. During the programme the penalsits said that the nationalist minorities of the state have been subjected to a constant barrage of assaults and provocations on their rights and liberties. This had caused much anguish among the women and society in general. The united will and efforts of the nationalist forces living in the state had averted a number of crisis over a period of time. While the Panun Kashmir wing expressed its resolve to continue the process of enlisting the views of representatives of the people on all important issues and make attempts to bring the people of the community together. The youth activists will make attempts to garner support of youth of all communities and will even contact youth activist from other cites of the country in this decision .Declare 'May Day' as gazette holiday: NMC Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 18: The 'National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) president Subash Shastri has appealed to Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh to declare May Day as a gazetted holiday under the negotiable instruments act. Addressing a rally of NMC workers here today, Shastri said that May day should be declare as national holiday, so that the salaried class remember the sacrifices of martyrs of 1886 who laid their lives for the betterment and protection of rights of working class of world. He expressed hope that the prime minister, Dr. Singh will take an early decision in this regard. Shastri also appreciated the chief minister and his cabinet collegues for timely implementation of the 6th pay commission, release of 6 and 5% pending DA installments due from January and July last year, and enhancement of wages of daily wagers from Rs 70 to Rs 110 and urged Dr Singh to enhance the income tax exemption limit upto Rs three lakh to provide relief to the salaried class in view of steep price in prices of essential commodities.
