| JMC removes unauthorised constructions | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Apr 19: Stepping up its drive against the unauthorised constructions, the Enforcement wing of Jammu Municipal Corporation today demolished four structures which were being raised without seeking permission from the civic body. Acting on specific reports, a team of enforcement wing visited several parts of the city and demolished two rooms on second floor at B C Road, Jammu, the violation part of shops at Mohalla Ustad near Nagrota Park, four shutters at High Court Road, Janipur and a stair case at Model Town, Gangyal. The defaulters were asked to seek proper building permissions from Corporation before undertaking the construction. The staff has been directed to keep strict vigil and ensure that no unauthorized construction/encroachment take place in their respective areas of jurisdiction. Besides, continuing the drive to implement the ban on the use of polythene carry bags, the Enforcement field staff also inspected the shops and other outlets in the areas of Jewel, Canal Road, Talab Tillo. During the inspection, the team seized about 20 Kgs of polythene carry bags from the shopkeepers, vendors and others outlets in these areas. An amount of Rs 3300 was charged as fine from 18 defaulters on spot who were using the polythene carry bags.
