| NSF asks DDE, JU to make public funds spent | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Apr 19: Smelling something fishy in the working of the Jammu University's Directorate of Distance Education (DDE), National Secular Forum (NSF) has demanded details of the funds spent from the Director within a week's time other wise Forum will launch an agitation. In a meeting held here today, NSF office bearers discussed the various issues related to the students. District president Randeep Singh said that in DDE, a huge amount of money is being collected from the students besides central agencies are also providing financial assistance but there is no accountability regarding the utilization of funds. He demanded that the DDE should make public the funds' utilization with in a week. It was also discussed that the government is not serious in establishing the Central University and appointment of local Vice Chancellor. Singh demanded that work on the University be started soon, so that employment opportunities for the locals could be created. Prominent among those were present on the occasion included Sanjay Sharma, Rohit Sharma, Pawan Sharma, Jyoti Sharma, Pooja, Ashwani, Inder Pal Singh and Sukhdev.
