| Cantt Board delegation calls on CM | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Apr 19: A delegation of elected members of Cantonment Board Jammu today called on Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and apprised him of the prevailing dismal condition of the GB Pant Cantonment Hospital, Jammu Cantt. As per press statement issued, the delegation was led by District President National Conference, Jammu Urban; Rajesh Bakshi. The delegation informed the CM about the pathetic condition of the G B Pant Cantonment Hospital besides its unsatisfactory working. The members said hospital needs to be fully operationlised to provide medical facilities to the general public.Rajesh Bakshi further said the hospital, which has 35 beds indoor facility, does not have fully equipped staff for various disciplines and it is working like a first aid centre. He requested the CM that the state government should take over the functioning of the hospital as has been done in the case of GB Pant Cantonment Hospital Badamibagh Srinagar. The delegation requested the CM that an elected member of the Cantonment Board, Jammu must be nominated in the District Development Board Jammu so that important issues concerning the Cantonment Board area could also be raised in the board meeting.Chief Minister gave a patient hearing to the delegation during meeting and assured them the problem brought to his notice will be resolved at the earliest.
