| One killed, six injured in two road mishaps | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Apr 19: One person was killed and six others, including five members of a family, were wounded in two road accidents on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway in the wee hours of this morning. The first tragedy struck at Digdol near Ramban, about 225 km from here, at about 5 am, when a truck (JK02AC/1078) fell into a 300-ft-deep gorge, resulting in the instant death of its driver and serious injuries to the conductor. The dead was identified as Mulkh Raj, son of Chuni Lal of Kud and the injured as Balbir Kumar, son of Krishan Singh of Sanasar. Balbir was hospitalised. The truck was on its way from Jammu to Srinagar.In the other incident, a Maruti car (JK02Q/7980) overturned in the middle of the road at Nagrota, about 11 km from here, at about 5.30 am as a result of which five members of a family, including four women, sustained injuries.The injured -- Ghulam Mohammad, Rifat, Asima Begum, Rashida Begum and Kaleez -- were admitted to the GMC Hospital. The family was on its way from Jammu to Kishtwar.
