| Book release function held at BGSBU | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
RAJOURI, Apr 21: A book release function was held at Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) here today.
Vice Chancellor BGSBU Masud A Choudhary released two books titled "Jadid Arbi Shayri" and Urdu translated version of popular Arabic book "Tarikh-e-Madina Munawara" originally authored by Ghali Mohammad Amin.
Both the books have been authored by Dr Shams Kamal Anjum Associate professor and Head Department of Arabic BGSBU.
Masud also released maiden issue of the monthly Wall Magazine named "Al Kalam"
Addressing the audience, Choudhary discussed the importance of Arabic language for better understanding of Islamic literature, and as a subject in civil services exams and emerging requirement of Arabic knowing people all over the globe. Stressing on the need for promotion of Arabic language, he promised every possible support to the Department of Arabic in strengthening their academic standards.
He emphasized on the need for creating employable work force to meet the emerging requirements. Choudhary lauded the initiative of the Department in starting a short-term certificate courses in Arabic on part-time basis. Emphasizing the needs for training students in Arabic language, the VC also announced a scholarship to non-Muslim student interested in seeking admission in MA Arabic.
Vice Chancellor also distributed mementoes and certificates to the winners and participants of Qirat and Gazal competitions organized by the Department of the Arabic earlier this month. Dr Shams Kamal briefed the audience about his two books and presented vote of thanks.
The function was attended by Deans of various Schools of Studies, Registrar, heads of various academic departments, officers, students of Arabic Department and various scholars and academicians representing different educational institutions of Rajouri.
