| JU's inter-hostel girls' events conclude | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Apr 21: Inter-hostel competitions for girls of the University of Jammu (JU) concluded today with the holding of finals at Gymnasium Hall, here. In badminton event, Sarojni Naidu Hostel emerged winner beating Chanderwaga Hostel 2-0 in the final. The Results: Indupriya bt Bandana Jasrotia 21-16 and Shivani bt Kunzus Dolma 21-7. The table tennis title went to Priyadarshani Hostel, who beat Sarojni Naidu 2-1. The Results: Mourti Jamwal bt Lokesha 11-8, 11-7; Talvi lost to Bharti Bakshi 7-11, 6-11. Doubles: Mourti and Talvi bt Bharati and Lokesha 11-3, 11-8.In chess, Priyadarshani hostel girls trounced Sarojni Naidu 2-1 to claim the title. The Results: Rashmeet Kour bt Manu Sharma; Rachna Bharti lost to Sania Jamwal. Reverse singles: Rashmeet Kour bt Poonam Gupta.
The carrom final was won by Priyadarshani Hostel after they outplayed Sarojni Naidu hostel 2-0. The Results: Shagun bt Pooja Gupta and Renuka bt Shoba.
Today's finals were officiated by Ravish Vaid, Rakesh Verma and Meenakshi Sharma.
Meanwhile, the boys' inter-hostel competitions shall start tomorrow at the same venue.
