| 43rd AIOC concludes at JU | | Dr. Satish Chander Jha elected as President General for 44th AIOC | | EARLY TIMES REPORTER JAMMU | OCT 14 43rd session of All India Oriental Conference (AIOC), which started two days back in the Deptt of Sanskrit, University of Jammu (JU), culminated with the valedictory function held here this afternoon. Minister for Road and Building Th. Gulchain Singh Charak was the chief guest during the function while Prof. V Kutumba Shastry, Vice Chancellor Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan; Delhi was the guest of honour. Prof. Amitabh Mattoo, Vice Chancellor JU was presiding over the function. Speaking on the occasion, Charak said that who so ever speaks Sanskrit appears to be a man of great knowledge and seems to talk in God’s own language. He further said that Jammu always remained busy in holding such congregations where people are talking about humanity. He appreciated the efforts of organizers and thanked HoD Sanskrit Prof. Ramnika Jalali for managing the entire event successfully. Prof. Mattoo, while speaking said that this conference was a true soul of India. He stressed for the need to study the ancient Asian culture as a separate subject. Dr. Saroj Bhate, Secretary General 43rd AIOC also announced the results of the AIOC elections, which held yesterday. Dr. Satish Chander Jha elected as President General for 44th AIOC, Dr. Shukdeo Sharma elected as Vice President. Name of the sectional Presidents were also announced and it was decided to institute five more awards for the next session. It was further decided that the conference in future be not fixed in any case during the Ramazan. Prof. Ramnika Jalali presented the vote of thanks.
